According to the State News Agency of North Korea, the country has just become the first in the world to land a man on the sun!
Around 3 AM this morning, astronaut Hung Il Gong reportedly left the Earth on his mission to land on the Sun, in a specially designed rocket ship.
There was no one else but Hung in the ship and reports indicate that he reached his destination in about four hours. He safely landed his ship on the far side of the lonely star.
“We are delighted to announce a successful mission to put a man on the sun.” a North Korean central news anchor man said on a live broadcast earlier. “North Korea has beaten every other country in the world to the sun. Hung Il Gong is a hero and deserves a hero’s welcome when he returns home later this evening.”
This revolutionary journey is expected to end tonight at 9 PM when the specially trained astronaut is expected to return to Earth and meet with his uncle and North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong-un.
The News Agency also reports that the 17-year-old ‘space explorer’ traveled at night to avoid being engulfed by the sun’s rays and that this genius approach has brought the Soviet state to the top of the global space rankings.
During his mission, the astronaut collected sun spot samples which were intended as a gift for his supreme leader back at planet Earth.
The North Korean central news agency already dubbed the 18-hour mission the ‘greatest human achievement of our time’.
